Do Hong Kong passport holders need a visa to visit NA?
No visa needed. Holders of an HKSAR ordinary passport can enter Namibia visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days. Hong Kong SAR ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit Namibia for tourism or short visits. Hong Kong (SAR) appears on Namibia's official visa-exemption list (foreign nationals exempted from the visa requirement for holders of all passports), confirmed by the Embassy of the Republic of Namibia and consistent with Namibia's Ministry of Home Affairs fact sheet. On arrival, immigration issues a Visitor's Entry Permit (VEP) allowing a stay of up to 90 days. Importantly, Namibia overhauled its visa policy on 1 April 2025, ending visa-free access for around 33 mostly Western nationalities (US, UK, France, Germany, Canada, Australia, etc.), who now use the visa-on-arrival / eVisa system. Hong Kong SAR was NOT affected and retains full visa exemption. Travelers must hold a passport valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry, with at least 3 blank pages, and be able to show a return/onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds. The exemption covers tourism and short visits only; work, study, or long stays require the appropriate visa/permit obtained in advance. This route does not involve the Schengen area, so the 90/180 Schengen rule and ETIAS do not apply.
