Do Hong Kong passport holders need a visa to visit MK?
No visa required. Hong Kong SAR ordinary passport holders can enter North Macedonia visa-free for tourism and stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Holders of an ordinary Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) passport do not need a visa to visit North Macedonia for tourism or other short stays. Under North Macedonia's visa policy, HKSAR passport holders are granted visa-free entry for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This is confirmed by both North Macedonia's visa policy and the Hong Kong Immigration Department's list of visa-free destinations. North Macedonia is an EU candidate country but is NOT part of the Schengen Area or the European Union, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and the upcoming EU ETIAS authorization do NOT apply to entries to North Macedonia (a separate count from Schengen). No electronic travel authorization is required. Travelers should carry a passport valid for the duration of stay (generally recommended at least 3 months beyond the intended departure date), proof of onward or return travel, evidence of accommodation, and sufficient funds. Border officers may request these at entry. The 90-day limit is the maximum visa-free stay; for longer stays, work, or study, a residence permit or appropriate visa from a North Macedonian diplomatic mission is required.
