HK SAR ordinary passport holders can visit Luxembourg visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period as part of the Schengen short-stay arrangement. No visa is needed for tourism. ETIAS is not yet required as of 31 May 2026. Luxembourg is a member of the Schengen Area, and holders of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) ordinary passport enjoy visa-free entry to the entire Schengen Area for short stays. The Hong Kong Immigration Department confirms HKSAR passport holders do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. This covers tourism, family/social visits, business meetings and short visits across all Schengen states combined (not 90 days per country). You must carry a passport valid for at least three months beyond your intended departure from the Schengen Area and issued within the previous 10 years. Border officers may ask for proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, sufficient funds and travel insurance. The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) will introduce a mandatory pre-travel authorisation (EUR 20, valid 3 years) for visa-exempt nationals including HK passport holders, but it is expected to start only in late 2026 and is NOT required as of 31 May 2026. Travelers should monitor ETIAS rollout before any late-2026/2027 trip. Note: the HKSAR passport is distinct from the BN(O) and Document of Identity, which have different rules.
