Do Hong Kong passport holders need a visa to visit LT?
HK ordinary (HKSAR) passport holders can visit Lithuania visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period across the Schengen area for tourism. No visa is required as of 31 May 2026. Lithuania is a member of the Schengen Area, and Hong Kong SAR ordinary passport holders enjoy visa-free entry to the entire Schengen zone, including Lithuania, for short stays. The allowance is up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period, counted cumulatively across ALL Schengen countries (not per country). This is confirmed by the Hong Kong Immigration Department's official visa-free access list. Your HKSAR passport should be valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended date of departure from the Schengen Area and issued within the previous 10 years. At the border you may be asked to show proof of onward/return travel, sufficient funds, accommodation details, and travel medical insurance. A new requirement, ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System), is scheduled to launch in the last quarter of 2026 with a transitional grace period into 2027. ETIAS is NOT a visa but an online pre-travel authorisation costing EUR 20 (free for applicants under 18 or over 70), valid 3 years or until passport expiry. As of 31 May 2026 ETIAS is not yet mandatory, so HK travellers can currently fly to Lithuania without it. Travellers planning trips in late 2026 and beyond should monitor the official EU ETIAS site and apply once the system goes live.
