Important and time-limited: Cambodia has launched a temporary visa-free pilot for Hong Kong (and Macao and mainland China) passport holders running 15 June to 15 October 2026, permitting visa-free entry for up to 14 days per visit with unlimited entries during the window, conditional on completing the digital Cambodia e-Arrival card and carrying medical cover of at least USD 10,000. Stays beyond 14 days, or travel outside that window, require the eVisa or visa-on-arrival. Cambodia is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. Given the pilot is narrow and conditional, the year-round best-fit verdict for a Hong Kong tourist is eVisa.
