Do Hong Kong passport holders need a visa to visit GE?
HK SAR passport holders can visit Georgia visa-free for up to 30 days within any 120-day period. No visa or eVisa is needed for a short tourist stay. Holders of a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) ordinary passport enjoy visa-free entry to Georgia for tourism and short visits. The arrangement, announced by the HK Immigration Department on 31 October 2023 and reflected in Georgia's current visa policy, allows a stay of up to 30 days within a rolling 120-day period. No advance visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival is required for stays within this limit. Georgia is not part of the Schengen area or the EU, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travelers simply present a passport valid for the duration of stay, with proof of onward travel and sufficient funds available on request at the border. For longer stays, work, study, or other purposes, a Georgian visa (available via the official eVisa portal evisa.gov.ge) or residence permit would be required, but these are not needed for ordinary tourism.
