Hong Kong passport holders need a visa for Cameroon. The standard route is the official Cameroon eVisa applied at evisacam.cm before travel; the physical visa is then printed and biometrics captured on arrival at the airport. A Hong Kong (HKSAR) ordinary passport holder cannot enter Cameroon visa-free. Since 2023 Cameroon operates a centralized electronic visa (eVisa) system through the government portal www.evisacam.cm, which has replaced the old paper consular and pure visa-on-arrival processes for most travelers. The applicant pre-registers online, uploads documents (passport biodata page, photo, hotel/flight bookings, yellow fever certificate), pays the fee online, and receives an electronic authorization with a QR code. Crucially, the final visa sticker is printed and biometric data (fingerprints, photo) is captured at the port of entry (Douala or Yaounde airport) before admission, so the eVisa is an authorization to travel rather than the final visa. The short-stay visa covers tourism and family visits, is valid up to 180 days, and normal processing is within about 72 hours of payment. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry. Cameroon is in Central Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
