Do United Kingdom passport holders need a visa to visit UZ?

British (ordinary) passport holders can visit Uzbekistan visa-free for tourism or business for up to 30 days. No visa or e-visa is required for short stays within this limit. As of 30 May 2026, citizens of the United Kingdom holding an ordinary passport do not need a visa to enter Uzbekistan for tourism or business, for stays of up to 30 days. This is a unilateral visa-free arrangement that Uzbekistan extends to UK nationals as part of its tourism-liberalisation policy. The passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the arrival date. No advance application, e-visa, or visa-on-arrival is needed for a short tourist trip. The single most important obligation beyond entry is registration: travellers must be registered with local authorities within 3 days of arrival. Hotels and registered accommodation handle this automatically; those staying in private homes or camping must self-register through the Emehmon (e-mehmon.uz) electronic system, or have their host do so. Failure to register can result in daily fines and possible deportation. An e-visa remains available (and is required) only for stays longer than 30 days or for other purposes such as work or study. Travellers should ensure their passport is stamped on entry, because exit border guards check the entry stamp to confirm the 30-day limit was not exceeded.
