Do United Kingdom passport holders need a visa to visit TN?
UK ordinary passport holders can visit Tunisia visa-free for up to 90 days per stay for tourism. No advance application is needed; passport is stamped on arrival. British citizens holding a full ordinary passport do not need a visa to enter Tunisia for tourism or short visits. The visa-free allowance is up to 90 days within a single visit. Tunisia is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply here. Travelers should carry proof of onward travel and accommodation, as border officials can request these on arrival and have occasionally refused entry to those who cannot show accommodation evidence. The passport is stamped on entry and checked for length of stay on departure. Overstaying the 90-day limit without a valid reason results in a fine, payable on departure at the airport or in advance at certain police stations. Passports should be valid for the duration of stay and in good condition; damaged passports can cause problems. This verdict is confirmed against the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (GOV.UK) travel advice for Tunisia as of 31 May 2026.
