Do United Kingdom passport holders need a visa to visit SZ?
UK ordinary passport holders can visit eSwatini visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism. No visa or eVisa is needed for a short stay. British citizens holding an ordinary passport do not need a visa to enter the Kingdom of eSwatini (formerly Swaziland) for tourism or a short business visit. On arrival you receive a free visitor's permit allowing a stay of up to 30 days, which can be extended once by 30 days at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Stays beyond 60 days require a Temporary Residence Permit. Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your arrival date and have at least 2 blank pages (4 if you also enter South Africa, e.g. via overland transit). You may be asked health-related questions on arrival, and a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required only if you are arriving from a country with yellow fever transmission risk. eSwatini launched an eVisa portal in 2025 mainly for visa-required nationalities; UK travellers do not need to use it for a short tourist visit. Carry proof of onward travel and sufficient funds, and ensure your entry stamp shows the correct dates.
