Do United Kingdom passport holders need a visa to visit NP?
UK passport holders can get a Nepal tourist visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) and major land borders. Fees are USD 30 (15 days), USD 50 (30 days), or USD 125 (90 days), all multiple-entry. You can also pre-fill the online form up to 15 days before arrival to speed up the airport queue. British citizens holding an ordinary passport do not need a visa in advance to visit Nepal for tourism. Nepal grants a tourist visa on arrival to UK nationals at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and at designated land border crossings (e.g. from India). The visa is issued for 15, 30, or 90 days, costs USD 30, USD 50, or USD 125 respectively, and is multiple-entry by default, allowing side trips to India or Tibet and return within validity. The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the entry date and have a blank page. Payment is in cash, with US dollars strongly preferred (cards work at some counters but are unreliable). Travellers can pre-complete the online visa application up to 15 days before arrival via the Department of Immigration portal to shorten the airport queue; this is not an eVisa but a pre-registration that still requires payment and biometric photo capture at the immigration counter. A pre-arranged tourist visa can alternatively be obtained from the Embassy of Nepal in London. Total tourist stay (including extensions) may not exceed 150 days in a calendar visa year (January to December). Overstaying carries heavy fines.
