Do United Kingdom passport holders need a visa to visit LB?

UK ordinary passport holders can get a free single-entry tourist visa on arrival at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (and other ports of entry). It is issued immediately, valid for a one-month stay, and extendable for up to two further months at General Security. No advance visa is needed. A British (GB) ordinary passport holder travelling to Lebanon for tourism does not need to arrange a visa before departure. On arrival at Beirut airport, UK citizens are granted a free single-entry tourist visa (the standard USD 35 fee that applies to many nationalities is waived for UK, EU/EFTA, US and several other passports). The visa permits an initial stay of one month, which can be extended for up to two additional months (three months total) at a Lebanese General Security office. To be admitted you should hold a passport valid for at least three months beyond entry (some carriers and border officers apply a six-month rule), with at least two blank pages, plus evidence of an onward/return ticket and an address and phone number in Lebanon (typically your hotel). A critical restriction applies: any Israeli stamp, visa or seal in your passport, or evidence of travel to Israel, will normally result in refusal of entry even with a valid visa. Note also that the UK FCDO maintains travel advisories for parts of Lebanon for security reasons, so travellers should check current advice before booking. As Lebanon is not in the Schengen area, the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
