Visits are unlimited, but total stay must not exceed 90 days within any rolling 180-day period; longer stays require a visa or temporary residence permit. The passport must be valid for at least 30 days from the date of arrival and have at least one blank page. Within 3 working days of arrival, your host or hotel must register your stay with the migration authorities (hotels normally do this automatically). Kazakhstan is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply; Kazakhstan operates its own separate 90/180 visa-free limit. Travelers should keep their migration card (issued at entry) until departure and confirm registration was completed to avoid fines. No biometrics are required for the visa-free channel (fingerprinting applies only to those applying for a visa or residency aged 17+).
