Do United Kingdom passport holders need a visa to visit FJ?
No. UK ordinary passport holders do not need a visa for tourism in Fiji. You receive a free Visitors Permit on arrival valid for up to 4 months. British citizens holding an ordinary passport are visa-exempt for short visits to Fiji. On arrival at any Fiji port of entry, immigration officers issue a free Visitors Permit valid for up to 4 months for tourism and short visits. No advance visa, eVisa, or ETA is required. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival, and you should be prepared to show an onward or return ticket and proof of accommodation/funds. The permit covers tourism only - it does not allow employment, paid volunteering, or business activity (a separate business visitors permit applies). If you wish to stay longer, the permit can be extended once, by up to 2 months, by applying to the Fiji Ministry of Immigration before it expires (extension fee FJ$93), for a total maximum stay of 6 months. This visa-free arrangement has been stable; there is no eVisa or ETA scheme for UK tourists as of May 2026.
