Do United Kingdom passport holders need a visa to visit DO?
UK ordinary passport holders do not need a visa to visit the Dominican Republic for tourism. You can stay visa-free for up to 30 days. There is no visa fee, but every traveller must complete the free, mandatory online E-Ticket (entry/exit form with customs declaration) before arrival. British citizens holding an ordinary passport can travel to the Dominican Republic for tourism without any visa, entering visa-free for up to 30 days (extendable to 120 days for a fee with the Dominican immigration service). The old paper "tourist card" has been fully replaced by the electronic E-Ticket, a free online form completed at eticket.migracion.gob.do that generates a QR code shown at check-in, entry and exit. The US$10 tourist card charge and the US$20 departure tax are normally bundled into the airfare, so most travellers pay nothing separately at the border. Passport validity has been relaxed: under an exceptional measure in force until 31 December 2026, UK passports only need to be valid for the duration of the stay rather than the usual six months. Travellers should carry proof of onward/return travel and accommodation, as entry can be refused without it. On arrival, border officers take fingerprints and a photograph. This is confirmed by UK GOV.UK travel advice, the official Dominican tourism board, and the Dominican Directorate General of Migration.
