The visa-free channel applies only to full British citizen passports; other categories of British nationality (such as British National Overseas, British Overseas Citizen) should verify separately with Brunei immigration or the Brunei High Commission in London. The 90-day allowance covers tourism and short visits only. Travel for work, study, long-term residence or business beyond a short visit requires the appropriate visa or permit arranged in advance. Overstaying or breaching entry conditions in Brunei carries severe penalties, including detention and corporal punishment (caning), so travellers should respect the permitted stay and entry terms.
