Do United Kingdom passport holders need a visa to visit AR?
UK ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit Argentina for tourism. You can stay visa-free for up to 90 days per entry, with no advance application or reciprocity fee. British citizens holding an ordinary passport enjoy visa-free access to Argentina for tourism and short visits of up to 90 days per entry. There is no eVisa, ETA, or visa-on-arrival requirement, and Argentina abolished its "reciprocity fee" for British travelers years ago, so entry is free of charge. Argentina is not in the Schengen area, so the EU 90/180 short-stay rule and ETIAS do not apply. On arrival, immigration officers may ask for proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds. Note that Argentine immigration no longer stamps passports on entry or exit; if you need proof of your entry/exit dates, contact the Argentine Migration Office (Direccion Nacional de Migraciones). The 90-day period can be extended once for a further 90 days by applying to the Migration Office before your current stay expires (a fee applies). Passport practice: GOV.UK advises your passport be valid for the duration of your stay, while the Argentine Consulate in London recommends at least six months' validity from your date of entry, so plan for six months to be safe. Always re-check GOV.UK travel advice shortly before departure, as requirements can change.
