Do France passport holders need a visa to visit ZM?
No visa required. French ordinary passport holders are visa-exempt for tourist visits to Zambia and may stay up to 90 days per calendar year. France is on Zambia's list of visa-exempt nationalities. Under Statutory Instrument No. 69 of 2022 (effective 1-2 November 2022), Zambia waived visa requirements for the European Union and several other countries, and this was confirmed and expanded in December 2024 when Zambia extended visa-free access to 167 countries in total. French ordinary passport holders therefore do not need any visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival to enter Zambia for tourism. They may stay up to 90 days within a calendar year as tourists (30 days per calendar year if the purpose is business). The passport should be valid for at least six months from the date of entry and have at least three blank pages. Travelers arriving by air should hold a valid return/onward ticket, and those arriving by land or water should be able to show sufficient funds. Visa-free entry is not an automatic guarantee of admission; the final decision rests with the immigration officer at the port of entry. Note that a yellow fever vaccination certificate may be requested if arriving from or transiting a yellow-fever-endemic country.
