Do France passport holders need a visa to visit SZ?
No. French ordinary passport holders do not need a visa for tourist visits to eSwatini. As an EU national, you are granted visa-free entry for up to 30 days on arrival, provided your passport is valid for at least three months beyond your departure date. France is on eSwatini's visa-exemption list (all EU member states qualify), so French citizens traveling for tourism are admitted visa-free for up to 30 days. Entry is granted at the port of arrival (King Mswati III International Airport, or land borders from South Africa/Mozambique) on presentation of a valid passport, proof of onward travel, and proof of sufficient funds. No advance visa, eVisa, or fee is required for the exempt 30-day stay. The 30-day period can be extended once for a further 30 days at the Ministry of Home Affairs; stays beyond 60 days require a Temporary Residence Permit. eSwatini rolled out an eVisa portal in 2025, but it is intended for nationals who require a visa, not for visa-exempt travelers such as French citizens. Note that eSwatini is in Southern Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route.
