Do France passport holders need a visa to visit SN?

No visa required. French passport holders can enter Senegal visa-free for tourism and short stays of up to 90 days (less than 3 months), provided their passport is valid for more than 6 months. France (ordinary passport) holders are exempt from visa requirements to enter Senegal for short stays. The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (France Diplomatie) states explicitly that French nationals visiting Senegal for stays under 3 months must hold a passport valid for more than 6 months and are exempt from any visa. This exemption covers tourism, family visits, and other short-stay purposes; it does not authorise paid work or long-term residence. There is no eVisa, visa-on-arrival, or ETA requirement for a short tourist trip, and no entry fee for the visa-free channel. Senegal is in West Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route. Travellers should carry a passport valid more than 6 months beyond entry, proof of onward/return travel, and evidence of accommodation and sufficient funds, which border officials may request. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission, and is generally recommended for Senegal. Stays beyond 3 months require a resident card (carte de séjour) obtained from local authorities in Senegal. As entry rules can change, travellers should re-check official sources shortly before departure.
