French ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Myanmar for tourism. The simplest option is the official online Tourist eVisa (USD 50), which permits a single-entry stay of up to 28 days. The Tourist eVisa costs USD 50, is valid for 90 days from the date of issue, allows a single entry, and permits a stay of up to 28 days. It is normally issued within about 3 working days (often 24-48 hours). Entry on an eVisa must be made through a designated international airport (Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw) or one of the approved land border checkpoints. Travelers should ensure their passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry and carry proof of onward travel and accommodation. Travelers should also review France's own (Diplomatie / Conseils aux voyageurs) and other government travel advisories before booking, as the security situation in parts of Myanmar remains volatile.
