Do France passport holders need a visa to visit MA?

French ordinary passport holders do not need a visa for tourist or short visits to Morocco of up to 90 days. Entry is granted on arrival with a passport valid for at least 6 months. As of 31 May 2026, holders of an ordinary French passport can enter Morocco visa-free for tourism and short business visits for up to 90 days per stay. France is on Morocco's official visa-exemption list (as an EU member state and under the long-standing bilateral relationship), so no visa, eVisa or visa-on-arrival is required for short stays. A passport valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry is required, and travelers should be able to show a return/onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds and accommodation. Morocco operates an Electronic Travel Authorization (AEVM) system, but as of this date it applies only to a small list of specific visa-exempt nationalities (e.g. Congo-Brazzaville, Ecuador, Ghana, Guinea) and does NOT apply to French citizens. Morocco has publicly stated an intention to eventually extend AEVM to all visa-exempt nationals, so French travelers should re-check before departure, but at present no online pre-authorization is needed. Note: a 2025 parliamentary proposal to require visas for Europeans was discussed but has not been enacted. For stays beyond 90 days or for work, study or residence, a visa must be obtained in advance through a Moroccan consulate in France.
