Do France passport holders need a visa to visit HT?

French ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Haiti. You can enter visa-free for up to 90 days; just pay a US$10 (or 10 EUR / 10 CAD) tourist tax on arrival and keep the green Departure/Sortie card. A France (FR) ordinary passport holder travelling to Haiti (HT) for tourism or a short visit does not require a visa in advance. Haiti grants visa-free entry to most nationalities, including France, for stays of up to 90 days (three months). On arrival every non-resident foreigner pays a small tourist tax of US$10 (also accepted as 10 EUR or 10 CAD) and receives a green "Depart/Sorti" (Departure) card that must be retained and presented when leaving the country. Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended date of return. Only nine nationalities (Dominican Republic, Panama, Colombia, Cuba, Syria, Libya, Iran, Vietnam, Yemen) must obtain a visa in advance, and France is not among them. This is confirmed by the Embassy of Haiti, the Haiti visa policy reference, and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (France Diplomatie). IMPORTANT NON-VISA WARNING: as of 2026 the French foreign ministry strongly advises against all travel to Haiti because of an extremely high and unpredictable kidnapping risk and widespread armed-gang violence, including around Port-au-Prince and its airport. The visa-free status is unchanged, but travellers should treat the security advisory as decisive when deciding whether to go.
