Do France passport holders need a visa to visit GT?

French ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Guatemala. As EU citizens they get a visa-free stamp on arrival for up to 90 days, valid across the CA-4 region (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua). A France (FR) ordinary passport holder can travel to Guatemala for tourism without a visa. Guatemala grants visa-free entry to all EU member states, so French nationals receive an entry stamp on arrival permitting a stay of up to 90 days. This allowance is shared across the four-country CA-4 zone (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua) under the Central America-4 Border Control Agreement, and time spent in any of those countries counts toward the same 90-day limit. The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (France Diplomatie) confirms no visa is needed for stays under three months; a long-stay visa from the Guatemalan Embassy in Paris is only required beyond 90 days. The passport should be valid for at least six months and travelers should hold proof of onward travel and sufficient funds. Since 2024 Guatemala requires all arriving and departing travelers to complete an online customs declaration to obtain a QR code before crossing the border. Note: Guatemala is in Central America and is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this direction of travel (ETIAS will instead apply to Guatemalans visiting Europe).
