Do France passport holders need a visa to visit CO?

French ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Colombia. You may enter visa-free for up to 90 days, extendable to a maximum of 180 days per calendar year. You must complete the free online Check-Mig form within 72 hours before your flight. As of 2026, France is on Colombia's visa-exemption list for short stays. French citizens holding an ordinary passport can enter Colombia for tourism without any visa and receive an entry permit (Permiso de Ingreso y Permanencia, PIP) of up to 90 days, granted at the discretion of the Migracion Colombia officer at the port of entry. This stay can be extended once via a "Prorroga de Permanencia" (PTP) for an additional period, but the total tourist stay must not exceed 180 days within a single calendar year (1 January to 31 December). No visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival is involved. All travelers, including the visa-exempt, must complete the free online Check-Mig immigration form within 72 hours before boarding their flight to (and from) Colombia. At the border you should be able to show a passport valid for the duration of your stay, proof of onward or return travel, and evidence of sufficient funds. Colombia is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules are not relevant to this route. The verdict is firmly visa-free, confirmed by Colombia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cancilleria) entry document and the official Colombia Travel portal.
