Do Finland passport holders need a visa to visit TZ?
Finnish passport holders need a visa for Tanzania. The recommended route is the official online eVisa (Ordinary single-entry, USD 50, valid for stays up to 90 days). Visa on arrival is still available for Finns as a fallback, but applying online before travel is advised. A Finland (FI) ordinary passport holder cannot enter Tanzania visa-free for tourism. Tanzania is not part of the Schengen area, so ETIAS and the 90/180 rule do not apply. Finland is listed by the Tanzania Immigration Services as eligible for both the online eVisa and visa on arrival. The standard tourist document is the Ordinary (single-entry) Visa, which costs USD 50 and permits a stay of up to 90 days; the eVisa is processed online (officially up to 10 working days, in practice often within a few days) via the government portal at visa.immigration.go.tz. Travelers heading only to Zanzibar use the same mainland Tanzania eVisa. While visa on arrival remains available to Finnish citizens at major entry points (Julius Nyerere, Kilimanjaro, Abeid Amani Karume airports and land borders), Tanzanian authorities now recommend obtaining the eVisa before travel to avoid airport queues and refusal risk. US nationals are the notable exception requiring the USD 100 multiple-entry visa; Finns are not affected by that rule. A passport valid at least 6 months with a blank page, a return/onward ticket, and proof of accommodation are required.

For guidance only — visa rules change with little notice. Always confirm directly with the destination's embassy or foreign ministry before booking non-refundable travel. Information here applies to ordinary (non-diplomatic) passports unless noted.
