Do Finland passport holders need a visa to visit TD?

Finnish passport holders need a visa to visit Chad. Since December 2024, Chad has issued an electronic visa (eVisa) through its official portal evisa.td, and as of May 2026 all applications must be filed exclusively online there. Apply before travelling. A Finland ordinary passport holder cannot enter Chad without a visa. Finland is not on Chad's visa-exempt list (which covers roughly 40 mostly African and regional countries for up to 90 days). Chad launched its electronic visa system on 11 December 2024, and following an official notice from the Ministry of Public Security and Immigration in May 2026, visa applications must now be submitted exclusively through the official platform evisa.td. From 21 May 2026 onward, any visa issued outside that official platform no longer permits entry into Chad. Finnish tourists should therefore apply for the eVisa online in advance: create an account, complete the form, upload a passport copy, proof of accommodation, a round-trip ticket and proof of funds, pay the fee, and receive the approved eVisa by email. The standard tourist eVisa is typically single-entry, valid around 30 days with a stay of up to 30 days. All foreign visitors, regardless of nationality, must also complete mandatory police registration within 72 hours of arrival. Carry a passport valid at least six months beyond the intended stay and a yellow fever vaccination certificate, which is required for entry to Chad.
