Finnish ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in El Salvador. You enter visa-free for up to 90 days, buy a US$12 tourist card on arrival, and the stay counts against the shared CA-4 region (El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua). El Salvador grants visa-free entry to citizens of EU/EEA states, including Finland, for short tourist visits. On arrival at the airport, seaport, or land border, Finnish travelers purchase a tourist card for US$12 (paid in cash, US dollars — El Salvador uses the US dollar as legal tender). The standard tourist admission is 90 days, which under the Central America-4 (CA-4) Border Control Agreement is shared across El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua — time spent in any of the four counts toward the same 90-day window. Extensions of up to a further 90 days can be requested from the Dirección General de Migración y Extranjería (DGME) inside the country. Passports should be valid for the duration of stay (six months' validity is widely recommended and may be requested). Travelers may be asked to show a return/onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds. El Salvador is in Central America, not the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route. As of 2026-05-30 there is no eVisa, ETA, or pre-arrival authorization requirement for Finnish tourists; the only cost is the on-arrival tourist card.
