Do Finland passport holders need a visa to visit SN?

Finnish passport holders do NOT need a visa for Senegal for tourist stays of up to 90 days. Finland is on Senegal's visa-exemption list as an EU member state. Note: Senegal announced a reciprocity-based mandatory e-visa (July 2025) that could eventually affect Schengen/EU travelers, but as of 31 May 2026 it is not yet operational and Finns still enter visa-free. A Finland (FI) ordinary passport holder can travel to Senegal for tourism without a visa for stays of up to 90 days. Finland qualifies under Senegal's blanket visa exemption for all European Union member states. No advance application, fee, or e-visa is required to enter for a short visit. Travelers must hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended departure date and should carry proof of onward/return travel and accommodation, which border officials may request. Yellow fever vaccination is not required when arriving directly from Europe, but is required if arriving from or transiting a country with yellow fever transmission risk; it is widely recommended regardless. IMPORTANT FORWARD-LOOKING NOTE: On 30 July 2025 Senegal's Council of Ministers adopted a mandatory electronic visa (e-visa) built on the principle of reciprocity, meaning nationals of countries that require visas from Senegalese citizens (which includes the entire Schengen area, and therefore Finland) would in future need an e-visa. As of 31 May 2026 the official portal (diplomatie.gouv.sn) is still marked "coming soon" and the system is not operational; Finnish citizens continue to enter visa-free. Travelers should re-check the official Senegalese Ministry of Foreign Affairs site close to departure, as this is the most likely area of change in 2026.
