Do Finland passport holders need a visa to visit NL?

No visa needed. Finnish citizens are EU nationals and enjoy full freedom of movement throughout the Schengen area, including the Netherlands. Travel with a valid Finnish passport or national ID card for any length of stay; the Schengen 90/180 limit and ETIAS do not apply to you. Finland and the Netherlands are both European Union member states and part of the Schengen Area. As an EU citizen, a Finland ordinary passport holder exercises the right of free movement and may enter, reside, work or study in the Netherlands without a visa, residence permit or entry authorization. There is no time limit on stays for EU citizens, so the Schengen 90-days-in-180 rule that applies to third-country nationals does not restrict you. You may travel with either a valid Finnish biometric passport or a valid Finnish national identity card; no other document is required for entry. The forthcoming ETIAS travel authorization (expected to launch in late 2026) applies only to visa-exempt non-EU nationals and explicitly does NOT apply to EU/EEA/Swiss citizens, so Finnish travelers will never need ETIAS for the Netherlands. Likewise, the Entry/Exit System (EES) registration of biometrics applies to non-EU travelers, not to EU citizens. There are no entry fees, no application, and no processing time. The only practical caution is to carry a valid travel document, since although border checks between Schengen countries are normally absent, identity may still be requested by airlines or authorities. If you intend to stay in the Netherlands longer than four months, you should register with the local municipality (BRP) and obtain a citizen service number (BSN), but this is a domestic administrative step, not an immigration/visa requirement.
