Do Finland passport holders need a visa to visit NA?
Finnish passport holders need a visa for short tourist visits to Namibia. Since 1 April 2025, Finland lost its visa-free status and now must obtain a Visa on Arrival (NAD 1,600), or apply online in advance through Namibia's eVisa/online Visa-on-Arrival portal, which is strongly recommended. Finland is one of 31-33 mainly Western nationalities that lost visa-free access to Namibia effective 1 April 2025, on grounds of diplomatic reciprocity. Finnish ordinary passport holders can no longer enter visa-free. Instead they obtain a tourist Visa on Arrival at major ports of entry (Hosea Kutako International Airport, Walvis Bay, and high-volume land borders) for NAD 1,600 (non-African rate, roughly EUR 80-85). The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security also launched an online Visa-on-Arrival/eVisa platform (eservices.mhaiss.gov.na) on 3 March 2025, and applying online before travel is strongly recommended to avoid airport queues and to confirm eligibility documents in advance. The visa is typically issued for 30 days on entry (grantable up to 90 days at the immigration officer's discretion), within an overall limit of 90 days of stay per calendar year, and can be single or multiple entry depending on the itinerary shown. Passport must be valid at least 6 months with blank pages. Because both the on-arrival and online channels exist and pre-application is advised, the best single verdict for a Finnish tourist is visa-on-arrival, with the eVisa option as the recommended route.
