No visa needed. Finnish (EU) ordinary passport holders can enter Kazakhstan visa-free for up to 30 days per visit, capped at 90 days within any 180-day period, for tourism or short visits. As of 2026-05-31, Finland is covered by Kazakhstan's visa-free regime for all 27 EU member states (and a parallel unilateral visa-free list of 50+ countries). A Finnish ordinary passport holder may travel to Kazakhstan for tourism, private visits or short business without obtaining any visa, eVisa or visa-on-arrival. The visa-free stay is up to 30 calendar days per entry, and the total stay must not exceed 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. Entry is by air or land. The QazETA electronic travel authorization (QazETA mobile app) exists only as a pilot and is recommended but not mandatory for visa-free nationals in 2026, so it does not change the verdict. There is no fingerprinting (dactyloscopy) requirement for visa-free visitors; fingerprinting applies only to those applying for visas or residence permits. Migration registration is required, but for travelers staying in hotels it is performed automatically by the hotel at check-in; the host (hotel or private host) must submit the notification via the Visa-Migration Portal / eQonaq.kz within 3 business days of arrival. Special permits are needed for restricted areas such as Baikonur. Kazakhstan is not in the Schengen Area, so Schengen and ETIAS rules do not apply to this route.
