Finnish ordinary passport holders need a visa for Ghana and should obtain an electronic visa (eVisa) before travel through Ghana's official national e-Visa platform, launched on 25 May 2026. Finland is an EU member state but is not on Ghana's visa-exempt list, which is largely limited to ECOWAS members and selected African Union nations. Finnish travelers therefore require a visa for tourism or short visits. Since 25 May 2026, Ghana operates a national e-Visa platform (evisa.immigration.gov.gh) run by the Ghana Immigration Service, accepting applications from 190+ countries including all major European nations. Travelers apply online, upload documents, pay the fee, and receive the approved e-Visa by email. A visa-fee waiver introduced on 25 May 2026 applies only to African passport holders, so Finnish (non-African) nationals still pay the standard fee, with single-entry tourist e-Visas listed at around USD 260 under standard processing. Visa-on-arrival is generally limited to African Union nationals and is not a reliable channel for Finnish citizens. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry into Ghana. Travelers should apply via the official portal only and avoid third-party reseller sites that charge markups.
