No visa needed. Finnish (EU) ordinary passport holders can enter Georgia visa-free for up to 365 days (1 year) per visit for tourism. Since 1 January 2026 you must also carry valid travel medical insurance (minimum 30,000 GEL coverage). Georgia grants one of the world's most generous visa-free regimes. As an EU member state, Finland's ordinary passport holders may enter and stay in Georgia without a visa for up to 365 consecutive days (one full year) for tourism, business or short visits. EU citizens may even enter on a national ID card rather than a passport. Georgia is NOT part of the European Union or the Schengen Area, so time spent there does not count against the Schengen 90/180 allowance, and ETIAS (the EU's upcoming travel authorisation) is irrelevant to a Georgia trip. The only material change for 2026: effective 1 January 2026, all foreign visitors must hold valid travel medical/accident insurance covering the entire stay, with minimum coverage of 30,000 GEL (about USD 11,000). Proof may be requested at the border and by airlines at check-in/boarding. No application, fee or pre-approval is required for the visa-free entry itself; travellers simply present a valid passport and insurance proof at the border.
