Do Finland passport holders need a visa to visit DK?
Finnish citizens do not need a visa for Denmark. Both countries are in the EU, the Schengen Area and the Nordic Passport Union, so Finns travel under EU freedom of movement. Carry a valid Finnish passport or national ID card to prove your identity. A Finland ordinary passport holder needs no visa to visit Denmark for tourism or any short stay. Finland and Denmark are both EU member states and part of the Schengen Area, so Finnish citizens enjoy full EU freedom of movement and can enter, stay and work in Denmark without restriction. There is no entry/exit visa, no fee and no time limit on simple visits. The Schengen 90/180-day short-stay rule applies only to non-EU nationals and does NOT apply to Finnish citizens. Likewise ETIAS, expected to launch for visa-exempt non-EU travelers in late 2026, does not apply to EU citizens such as Finns. Both countries also belong to the Nordic Passport Union, meaning a passport is not legally mandated between Nordic states, though you must still be able to prove your identity and citizenship. In practice, carry a valid Finnish passport or national ID card: airlines, ferries and other carriers routinely require photo ID, and police may ask you to confirm your identity. If you intend to reside in Denmark for more than 3 months you must obtain an EU residence (registration) certificate, but that is beyond a tourist visit.
