Do Finland passport holders need a visa to visit BD?

Finnish passport holders do NOT enjoy visa-free entry to Bangladesh. EU citizens (including Finland) may obtain a 30-day single-entry Visa on Arrival (VOA) at Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet airports for tourism (US$51 / €51, cash), but it is fully at the immigration officer's discretion. Because Bangladesh has consular coverage for Finland, the safer route is to apply in advance via the Bangladesh mission / MRV portal before you fly. A Finnish ordinary passport holder needs a visa for Bangladesh; there is no visa-free or visa-waiver arrangement. As an EU national, Finland is on Bangladesh's Visa-on-Arrival list, so a 30-day single-entry tourist VOA can be issued on arrival at the three international airports (Dhaka HSIA, Chittagong, Sylhet) for travel, tourism, business or investment. The fee is US$51 (or €51 / £51 equivalent), payable in cash only, and travelers must show a passport valid at least 6 months, a return/onward ticket, confirmed accommodation and roughly US$500 in available funds. VOA is single-entry, extendable up to a further 30 days through the Department of Immigration in Dhaka, and is granted at the sole discretion of the immigration officer — it is a privilege, not a right. Bangladesh has not launched a true tourist e-visa; the visa.gov.bd MRV portal supports online application but the visa sticker is still placed in the passport at a mission. Because Bangladesh maintains consular coverage for Finland (through its missions serving the Nordic region), the conservative recommendation for certainty is to secure a tourist visa in advance rather than relying on VOA. Bangladesh is not part of the Schengen area, so the 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route.
