Finnish ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist visits to Angola. Since late 2023, Angola exempts nationals of 98 countries (all EU members, including Finland) from the tourist visa, allowing up to 30 days per entry and a maximum of 90 days per calendar year. Angola introduced a sweeping tourist visa exemption in late 2023 (Presidential Decree expanding visa-free entry to 98 nationalities), which includes all 27 European Union member states. As a Finnish (FI) ordinary passport holder, you may enter Angola for tourism without any visa for stays of up to 30 consecutive days per entry, capped at 90 days total within a 12-month period. The exemption is for tourism and short-visit purposes only (sightseeing, family visits, recreational/sporting/cultural activities, and limited business prospecting at the border officer's discretion). Angola is NOT in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply here. To use the visa-free channel you simply present a passport valid for the required period with at least two blank pages, evidence of onward/return travel, proof of accommodation, and sufficient funds; admission remains at the discretion of the border officer. If you plan to stay longer than 30 days, work, or undertake activities beyond the exemption's scope, you must apply for the appropriate visa (e.g., the Angola tourist eVisa or a consular visa) before travel. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry to Angola.
