Do Finland passport holders need a visa to visit AM?
Finnish ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for Armenia. As EU citizens they may enter visa-free and stay up to 180 days within any one-year period for tourism. No advance application, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival is required. Finland is an EU member state, and Armenia grants visa-free entry to all EU/EEA/Schengen nationals for short visits. According to Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, citizens of countries with a visa-free regime may stay in the Republic of Armenia for no more than 180 days during any one-year period. Finnish travelers simply present a valid ordinary passport at the border (Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan or a land crossing) and receive an entry stamp, with no visa, fee, or pre-registration required. Armenia is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so the EU Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to entering Armenia. A passport valid for the duration of stay (commonly recommended at least 3 months beyond intended stay) is advised, and proof of onward travel or sufficient funds may occasionally be requested. An eVisa system exists only for nationalities that are not visa-exempt, so it is not relevant for Finnish citizens. Note: separately, in 2025 the EU launched an Action Plan toward visa liberalisation for Armenian citizens traveling to the EU, but this does not change the already-existing visa-free access that Finns enjoy when traveling TO Armenia.
