Spanish ordinary passport holders need a visa for Russia, but can obtain a single-entry unified electronic visa (e-visa) entirely online for short tourist stays of up to 30 days. A Spain (ordinary passport) traveler to Russia for tourism requires a visa. Russia does not offer visa-free entry to Spanish citizens, but Spain is on the official list of 64 countries eligible for the Russian unified electronic visa (e-visa), confirmed by the Russian MFA Consular Department portal (evisa.kdmid.ru). The e-visa is applied for fully online with no invitation letter or hotel booking required. It is a single-entry visa valid for 120 days from issue, allowing a stay of up to 30 consecutive days (extended from 16 days as of 23 August 2025). The consular fee is approximately USD 52, processing takes up to 4 calendar days, and applicants must hold travel medical insurance valid in Russia for the entire stay. Entry and exit must be through designated checkpoints, which include the major Moscow and St. Petersburg airports. Russia is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to travel to Russia.
