No visa. As a Spanish (EU) citizen you enjoy EU freedom of movement and may enter the Netherlands for tourism with just a valid Spanish passport or national ID card, with no time limit on your stay. Spain and the Netherlands are both European Union and Schengen Area member states. As an EU citizen, a Spanish ordinary passport holder has the legal right of free movement: no visa, no ETIAS, and no residence permit is required to travel to the Netherlands. You can enter with either a valid Spanish passport or a valid national identity card (DNI). Internal Schengen border checks are normally absent, though police may carry out spot identity checks, so always carry valid ID. The Schengen 90/180 short-stay rule and ETIAS do NOT apply to EU nationals - those rules are for visa-exempt non-EU travelers. ETIAS, expected to launch in Q4 2026, explicitly exempts EU/EEA/Swiss citizens. A Spaniard may even stay beyond 90 days for any purpose; the only formality for stays exceeding four months is registration with the local municipality (gemeente) to obtain a BSN, which is administrative and not a barrier to entry. Your travel document simply needs to be valid on the day of travel.
