Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Oman. The standard route for a tourist visit is the Oman eVisa applied for online through the Royal Oman Police portal (evisa.rop.gov.om) before travel. Egypt is not on Oman's unconditional visa-free list. Under Oman's two-tier exemption system, Egyptians fall into the "second group": they qualify for the 14-day visa exemption (and visa on arrival) ONLY if they already hold a valid entry visa or residence permit from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Japan, or a Schengen country. For an ordinary tourist trip without one of those qualifying visas, an Egyptian traveler must obtain an Oman tourist eVisa in advance. The eVisa is issued by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) and applied for online at evisa.rop.gov.om, with no embassy visit required. Common options are the 10-day single-entry visa (5 OMR), the 30-day single-entry visa (20 OMR), and the 30-day multiple-entry visa (50 OMR). All visitors must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months, and should carry a return ticket, confirmed hotel booking, travel/health insurance, and proof of sufficient funds. Oman is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
