A key requirement is an invitation letter (LOI) issued by a licensed Kazakhstani receiving party (a tour operator or hotel for tourists), which the host submits to Kazakh migration services for approval before the traveler can complete the e-visa application; host-side approval of the invitation typically takes about 5 business days, after which the e-visa itself is issued quickly. Travelers who cannot arrange an invitation, or who need a longer or multiple-entry stay, should instead apply for a sticker visa at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Cairo. Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, and travelers should carry proof of accommodation, onward/return tickets and sufficient funds. Foreigners staying in Kazakhstan are also subject to registration rules (handled automatically at air borders within the permitted stay). Note: a few aggregator sites list Egypt as embassy-visa-only; however, the official Kazakhstan government portals confirm Egypt's e-visa eligibility, so the online e-visa channel is valid as of mid-2026 provided an invitation is obtained.
