Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Israel. Egypt is not on Israel's visa-exempt / ETA-IL list, so a B/2 visitor visa must be obtained in advance from an Israeli mission. The only exception is a restricted 14-day visa-free entry via the Taba border crossing, limited to the area up to Beersheba. As of 2026, Egyptian (EG) ordinary passport holders are required to obtain a visa before traveling to Israel for tourism. Egypt does not appear on Israel's list of roughly 96 visa-exempt nationalities and therefore is NOT eligible for the ETA-IL electronic travel authorization (which only covers visa-waiver countries) or the eVisa-B2 pilot. The standard route is the B/2 visitor (tourist) visa, applied for in person at the Israeli Visa Application Centre / mission serving Egypt, with biometrics-style in-person appearance, supporting documents, and embassy review. There is one narrow exception confirmed by Israel's published visa policy: nationals of Egypt do not need a visa for stays of up to 14 days if they enter through the Taba land border crossing (near Eilat) and limit their travel to the area up to Beersheba only. Any travel beyond that zone, or arrival by air at Ben Gurion (TLV), requires a full B/2 visa secured in advance. Given current regional conditions, processing for Egyptian applicants can be slow (weeks to months) and approval is discretionary, so the conservative verdict is visa-required.
