Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Gabon. The standard route for short tourist visits is Gabon's online e-Visa (entry authorization) obtained before travel through the official DGDI portal, with the visa fee paid in cash on arrival at Léon-Mba International Airport in Libreville. Egypt is not on Gabon's visa-exemption list (which covers only a small group such as Morocco, several CEMAC neighbours, Panama, and a few others). Egyptian ordinary passport holders must therefore obtain a visa in advance. The most practical channel is the Gabon e-Visa run by the Directorate General of Documentation and Immigration (DGDI) at evisa.dgdi.ga. The traveler applies online, uploads passport bio-page and photo, and receives an entry authorization (ETA) within roughly 48-72 hours. Importantly, this is a two-step process: the online approval does not constitute the final visa, the visa fee is paid in cash (Euro or XAF) at the dedicated e-Visa counter at Léon-Mba International Airport (LBV) in Libreville, where the visa sticker is issued. The e-Visa is valid only for arrival by air via Libreville. Standard fees are EUR 70 / XAF 45,000 for a 1-3 month single-entry visa plus a EUR 15 file-processing fee, or EUR 185 / XAF 120,000 for a 6-month multiple-entry visa plus EUR 15. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry to Gabon, and the passport must be valid at least 6 months with two blank pages. Holders of Egyptian diplomatic or service passports may enter under a separate non-ordinary-passport arrangement, but this does not apply to ordinary passports.
