Do Germany passport holders need a visa to visit VE?

German ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Venezuela. They may stay visa-free for up to 90 days (extendable once). Travelers arriving by air receive a tourist card (Tarjeta de Ingreso / DEX-2) issued by the airline. As of 30 May 2026, Germany is among the European Union and other countries whose ordinary passport holders enjoy visa-free entry to Venezuela for tourism and short visits, for up to 90 days (extendable once for an equal period). No advance visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival sticker is required. For arrivals by air, the airline issues a tourist card (Tarjeta de Ingreso, formerly DEX-2) before or during the flight, which is presented at immigration; it carries no government fee. The passport should be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, and travelers should carry proof of onward/return travel and sufficient funds. Note that Venezuela remains under a German Federal Foreign Office travel warning: entry and exit controls can be lengthy, foreigners must always be able to prove legal status, and there have been cases of entry refusals and detentions of EU nationals. Families with children should carry (international) birth certificates, often requested on exit. The visa-free channel does not permit paid work, which requires a separate work visa.
