Do Germany passport holders need a visa to visit UZ?
German ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist trips to Uzbekistan. You may enter visa-free and stay up to 30 days per visit. Since January 2019, Germany has been on Uzbekistan's unilateral visa-free list. Ordinary German passport holders can enter Uzbekistan for tourism (and many short-stay purposes) without any visa or eVisa and remain for up to 30 days from the date of entry. You simply arrive with a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay and clear immigration; no advance application, fee, or eVisa is required for the visa-free channel. The main administrative obligation is registration: visitors must be registered within 3 days (72 hours) of arrival. Hotels and hostels do this automatically through the Emehmon.uz system, so if you stay in registered accommodation you have nothing to do; if you stay in a private home or unregistered lodging you must self-register online. Keep your registration slips, as exit checks may ask for them. For stays longer than 30 days, or for work, study or other non-tourist purposes, you must obtain the appropriate visa (an eVisa is available via e-visa.gov.uz) before or during your trip. There is no Schengen/ETIAS dimension here since Uzbekistan is not in the Schengen area; ETIAS instead applies to non-EU visitors entering the Schengen zone, not to Germans travelling abroad.
