🇩🇪德国(Germany)🇸🇪瑞典(Sweden)DE-SE 德国(Germany) 前往 瑞典(Sweden) 签证要求
No visa needed. As an EU citizen, a German passport holder has full freedom of movement to Sweden and can enter and stay indefinitely, traveling on either a valid German passport or national ID card. Germany and Sweden are both members of the European Union and the Schengen Area. Under EU freedom of movement rules (Directive 2004/38/EC), German citizens do not need a visa to travel to Sweden and are not subject to the Schengen 90/180-day limit that applies to third-country nationals. A German citizen may enter Sweden on a valid passport OR a valid national identity card. Border checks at internal Schengen borders are normally absent, though Sweden has at times reintroduced temporary internal border controls, so carrying valid ID is essential. For a short tourist visit there is no registration requirement. EU citizens have the right of residence for up to three months simply by holding valid ID; for stays beyond three months they must be working, self-employed, studying, or self-sufficient with comprehensive health insurance (right of residence — no residence permit/card required since 2014). ETIAS, the EU's new travel authorisation expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026, does NOT apply to EU citizens such as Germans; it targets visa-exempt non-EU nationals only. Therefore the verdict is firmly visa-free.
