The standard tourist visa is a single-entry visa valid for three months with a stay of up to about 30 days, costing roughly USD 80 plus service charges; multiple-entry and longer-validity options exist at higher cost. A valid international yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for all travelers aged nine months and over, and the passport must have at least one blank page and be valid for the duration of stay. Processing typically takes around five working days. Travelers should be aware that the German Federal Foreign Office (Auswaertiges Amt) issues a standing travel warning for Mali (updated May 2026) citing terrorism, armed conflict and kidnapping, and advises German nationals to leave only by air; this does not change the visa rule but heavily affects the practicality and insurability of any trip.
