Do Germany passport holders need a visa to visit KW?
German ordinary passport holders need a visa for Kuwait, but qualify for the simple online eVisa (recommended) or a visa on arrival when flying into Kuwait International Airport. As EU citizens, Germans are in Kuwait's eligible group for a short tourist visa valid for stays of up to 90 days. Kuwait is not visa-free for German citizens, but Germany (as an EU member state) is on Kuwait's list of nationalities eligible for the streamlined tourist visa. Travelers have two equivalent channels: apply online for an eVisa through the Kuwait Ministry of Interior portal before departure, or obtain a visa on arrival at Kuwait International Airport when arriving by air. The eVisa is recommended because it confirms eligibility before you fly and avoids airport queues. The official government fee is 3 KWD (about EUR 9), the permitted stay is up to 90 days, and the standard tourist visa is single-entry. The passport must be valid at least 6 months on arrival. Note: visa on arrival is generally only granted for arrivals by air; travelers entering by land or sea should arrange a visa in advance. Kuwait is not part of the Schengen Area, so the EU 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route.
