German passport holders need a visa for Cambodia. The easiest route for a short tourist stay is the official Cambodia eVisa (Tourist Type-T), applied for online before travel: single entry, 30-day stay, US$30 government fee, valid 3 months from issue. Visa on arrival is also available at major airports and land borders. Germany is not on Cambodia's visa-exemption list, so an ordinary German passport holder cannot enter Cambodia visa-free. For a short tourist visit the recommended channel is the Cambodia eVisa (Tourist Visa, Type-T), issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation via the official portal evisa.gov.kh. It is a single-entry visa allowing a stay of up to 30 days, valid for use within 3 months of issue, with a government visa fee of US$30 (third-party agency sites add service charges, often quoting ~US$36 total). A traditional visa on arrival (Type-T, US$30) is also available at the international airports (Phnom Penh/Techo, Siem Reap-Angkor, Sihanoukville) and major land borders such as Bavet and Trapeang Kriel. Separately, since 2025 all air travelers must complete the free Cambodia e-Arrival card online within 7 days before arrival. Cambodia is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Passport must be valid at least 6 months with at least one blank page.
